Thanks for...

Thanksgiving is a holiday where people give thanks about certain things. It’s a day to stop and reflect on your life. Today I am forced to write about how thankful I am towards my classmates. But no offense if you’re not on this list I love all my classmates. Except for PHIL just kidding Phil J My first one up is Jacky Huang <333333
Jacky is my favorite Asian person that I always heard about but I never met. Until this year I finally found out why everyone loved Jacky so much. He is hilarious and always brings up the best in people. Jacky either says something really funny or does something really stupid. He is always trying to make people laugh and he is the shoulder anyone can go to if someone needs it. Jacky is officially an honorary Mexican because he hangs with pure Mexicans and lives with Mexicans.
Next one up is Shem, the typical loving short Mexican. Shem is always the one that’s the most chill of our group. He always just stays there and reminds us to lay back and relax. Shem is always the one I run to for homework. Since we have lunch we always remind each other of things due in philosophy and guitar. But forgetful Shem always needs a pick.  Also me and Shem are definitely going to Mr. Peek and learning how to play a bachata song by the end of the year (we need suggestions!!)
Next is Phil. I have known Phil since freshman year. I and Phil are in the same division. Phil is an aspiration to me because he aspires to be the best he can. He has finished most of his college apps and he always does his homework. Phil is a good role model and he is perfect for just staying there and looking pretty
Next up are Vanessa and Jessica. They are the only girls in our little group. They are always the one that gives us the answers. They are the two most philosophical thinkers I know of. I know both of them since freshman year and without both of them our group discussions wouldn’t be the same. Our whole group wouldn’t be the same.  They are basically the ones in charge of our group.
Without any of these people my learning experience in this class would be so much more different. I love you guys :)

To Mr. MacCcarthy( i mean cormac)

Dear Cormac McCarthy,
Overall I thought your book is a well organized and fascinating book. The book itself grasped my attention and kept me reading. I must admit there were some parts that were not so attention grabbing. There were some parts where the characters where simple. I feel like the characters had a lot more to say but then again their situation begs to differ. But overall the whole plot to the story was a very well organized and written piece of literature.
In my view books filled with suspense are the best. And this book had many suspense from running from people to finding random objects. There was a never a point where one as the reader, could predict what would happen next.
I personally loved the whole dad son relationship. The kid being naïve added a whole new perspective to the story. The man tried keeping the sons innocence while trying everything he can to keep them alive. The ending was an ending full with sorrow and tears. To see the dad whom, gave everything he had to keep his son alive, ended up dying at the end. Hopefully I can read more of your books and are just as good as this one was.

Sincerly,
Alejandro Campos

Direction???

Overall this class has a positive direction. The discussions during class keep me entertained. This class isn't what people would call a “blow off” class. All the assignments are not assignments you can go home and finish in 10 minutes. All of our work and assignment requires though and careful consideration. But not saying this class is perfect, no offense but this class has some flaws as well. During most of the discussions people are not participating
I noticed during most class discussions many people are either dozing of in their own little world or doing other work. I feel like class discussions should be set up where everyone can participate. Well everyone can participate but they should start calling on those who either aren't on task or not paying attention. Everyone can benefit from class discussions and I believe we should make the best of it
Another minor flaw is when we do discuss the class does tend to off on tangents on random stuff. We can go discussing the whole class periods but by the end the discussion has gone to an off topic subject. In these occasions sometimes most of the answers are not answered.
But nonetheless this class is an essential and positive class. Not only do we learn to analyze something more thoroughly but we learn to think outside of the box.
